Qualcomm has confirmed that its two-day Tech Summit event will take place in December, as has been speculated for the past few weeks. It will be exactly on December 1st. Although the company has not officially confirmed it, it will most likely reveal the new Snapdragon 875 flagship chip to the public at a digitally organized event.

According to unofficial reports so far, the Snapdragon 875 will be Qualcomm's first 5nm chip. It will reportedly have one Cortex-X1 processor core, three Cortex-78 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores. It is said that the Snapdragon X5 60G modem will be integrated into it.

The chip, which should be manufactured by Samsung's semiconductor division Samsung Foundry, will reportedly be 10% faster than the Snapdragon 865 and around 20% more efficient in terms of power consumption.

It's unclear at this point if Qualcomm plans to introduce any more chips at the event. It is rumored to be working on its first 6nm Snapdragon 775G chipset, which is expected to be the successor to the Snapdragon 765G chip. In addition, it is said to be developing another 5nm chip and a lower-end chip.

One of the first phones to be powered by the Snapdragon 875 will be the top model of Samsung's next flagship, according to the latest anecdotal reports Galaxy S21 (S30). Other models should use a chip from Samsung's workshop or settle for the Snapdragon 865.
