Windows_XP_Logo-150x150Microsoft has officially ended support for the Windows XP and that was reflected in the increase in sales of computers in Slovakia. The news was brought by the world-famous analytical company IDC, which claims that after the end of support for Windows XP sales of computers and notebooks in Slovakia in the first quarter of 2014 increased by 21% compared to last year. This happened after six consecutive quarters of continuous decline in computer sales in our country.

People mostly bought computers and laptops with Windows 7 to Windows 8, that is, with two current versions of the operating system from Microsoft. The company also claims that 70% of all PCs sold in the quarter were notebooks, but traditional desktops also saw an increase in the number of sales. IDC further looked at which brands are preferred in our country. The most devices were sold by Lenovo with a share of 25.5%, HP with 20.7% and Acer with a share of 16%. The remaining 37.8% were sales of other manufacturers, which include, for example, ASUS, Dell or Samsung.
