Android L will come with a huge wave of changes and innovations, including heads-up notification. These are notifications that, instead of filling the top bar, pop up directly on the display, even if it is locked. They can then be turned off with a simple finger movement and the user can continue with the activity. Unfortunately, Android L won't be released until fall/autumn at the earliest, but XDA developers have already come up with a solution to make this new notification method work on mobiles with the current Androidem. However, there is one main condition - the phone must not run on the version Androidu lower than 4.0, otherwise you can say goodbye to heads-up notifications.
So far, there are two ways to get the new device. One requires root, the other also works on devices without modified ROM, but only on Androidat 4.3+. The non-root method is simple, just download the APK file from XDA-developers, install it, reboot your device and you're done. And to make the notifications a little more similar to those from Android L, it is possible to play with the settings a bit. But if you don't mind supporting the developer with a sum of less than 20 CZK, you can get the same application under the name Heads-up! purchase on Google Play.
However, in case your device doesn't support it Android 4.3+ and running at least version 4.0, the procedure is a bit more complicated. First of all, the device needs to be rooted and the Xposed framework loaded, but with this step, the owner risks losing the two-year warranty. After you find a bit of courage and install the Xposed framework after rooting, all you have to do is download and install the Heads Up Xposed module from the Xposed Installer, restart the device and open the Heads Up Notifications application. But it doesn't offer nearly as many settings as the aforementioned Heads-up! for Android 4.3+, but it fulfills its function one hundred percent.
