The German portal AllAboutSamsung.de obtained an official statement from Samsung on the question of whether the company will still produce laptops. Those who expected the Korean company to continue making ATIV Book series notebooks will have to look elsewhere in the future, as Samsung has announced that it has stopped making notebooks and is thus exiting the stagnant market.
Samsung hasn't said what's wrong, but it's probably due to tablets, whose market share is increasing at the expense of laptops. Many customers began to use tablets with often times longer battery life for the same things they did on laptops, i.e. for working with the Internet and other consumer activities. In addition, tablets are many times cheaper than laptops with current hardware.
