They surfaced two days ago informace that Samsung Account data is vulnerable. However, Samsung responded shortly and released an update that fixed this problem. Anyway, the issue was that the credentials were sent along with other data to the Korean company's servers without any encryption, thus creating a huge opportunity for various hackers - both experienced and inexperienced.

Fortunately, Samsung released a statement that no data was stolen and everything is fine, calming the situation. It states that the data could only be accessed when a new user registered, but this error was corrected at the time of the press release. Still, the news is not encouraging, especially considering the spying by the NSA and GCHQ. Although Samsung claims that no data was stolen, we still recommend using the option to change your password to secure your account against similar threats.
