Prague, March 11, 2014 – Samsung Electronics presented new printer series that support NFC technology at CeBIT 2014. A range of color laser printers Xpress C1860 and a number of black and white laser printers Xpress M2885 is intended for small and medium-sized companies that use a large volume of printing and require high compatibility with a wide range of IT devices. Both lines will also offer service Samsung Cloud Print, which will be available in the United States and Europe later this year.

Faster performance and new features for office environments

The Xpress C1860 series includes the C1810W color laser printer and the C1860FW multifunction device, which, in addition to printing, offers the ability to copy, scan and fax documents. The Xpress C1860 model is equipped with a dual processor (main: 533 MHz, secondary: 150 MHz) and 256 MB memory (expandable to 512 MB).

The Xpress M2885 series has a black-and-white M2835DW printer and a black-and-white M2885FW multifunction device, which also provides printing, copying, scanning and faxing. The Xpress M2885 model offers a 600 MHz processor and 128 MB memory.

These printers enable simple and mobile printing with speed 28 pages (A4) per minute for black and white models and 18 pages per minute for color models.

The Xpress M2885/C1860 series ensure quality printing with perfectly legible text and sharp images, thanks to the unique image enhancement technology and function Rendering Engine for Clean Page (ReCP). In addition, the Xpress C1860 series prints in vivid and glossy colors thanks to the utilization polymerized toner, which contains finer and more uniform particles.

"Easy Print Management" application for mobile devices

Samsung introduces the “Easy Print Management” for mobile devices that were previously only available on computers. Thanks to the feature NFC, together with the application Mobile Print, even companies without an IT department can easily check informace about the device, the state of the printed documents and the use of the material. (The Samsung Mobile Print application can be downloaded from Google Play and Apple App Store).

It is included in the Mobile print application as part of customer support a series of instructional videos. These will help users detect and resolve any malfunctions without having to contact customer service.

Convenient printing directly from your mobile phone

Since the launch of the first printers with NFC technology in 2013, Samsung continues to find other ways to make mobile printing even easier for users. Both new printer series offer both NFC and Wi-Fi Direct technology, enabling easy and secure printing of documents, images and even content from social media. Just enough attach the smartphone to the printer.  

Users can too to send scanned documents from multifunctional devices directly do of their own smart phones without the need to use e-mail or a PC.

"Following on from last year's successful NFC printer models, we are introducing even faster and more advanced models designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses,” said Sung-won Song, Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Sales of Samsung Electronics' Printing Solutions Business. "Mobility is an important element of everyday activity in small and medium-sized companies. Employees often need to print from their own devices that are not connected to a network. NFC technology thus significantly simplifies their work,” Song added.

The C1860/M2885 printer series will be introduced in Europe in April, in the Czech Republic they will be available at the turn of April and May.
