YouTube realized some time ago that 1080p resolution would soon be "out" and thus ensured support for higher resolutions, including Quad HD and Ultra HD. You won't find many videos in these resolutions on YouTube these days, but they do exist and will soon be playable on the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Why?
Google in its YouTube application pre Android built in support for 1440p resolution, which is the same resolution that the LG G3 already has today and that Samsung will soon have Galaxy Note 4, if Google did not make the feature available exclusively on the LG flagship. Samsung Galaxy However, the Note 4 will also be a globally available device that will have a Quad HD resolution, i.e. 2560 x 1440 pixels. At a density of 530 ppi (if the Note 4 has a 5.7″ display) however, it is highly questionable whether there will be a noticeable difference when playing QHD or Full HD videos, and Full HD videos will look worse.
