Billions of dollars a year go from Samsung's budget to advertising and marketing purposes. Most of this money then flows into various events that the South Korean electronics giant sponsors. The mentioned events then include the Olympic Games, of which Samsung has been a proud sponsor for several years and, according to the latest news, will be for several more years, as Samsung has officially announced that it has extended its contract with the International Olympic Committee until 2020.

This was done at a ceremony in the Chinese city of Nanjing. Samsung will thus sponsor the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongyang and the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics in the category of wireless communication and computer equipment. More specifically, Samsung will then supply the athletes and organizers with smartphones, tablets, laptops, printers and even personal computers, similar to what happened at the previous Olympics, including this year's.
