Curved-UHD-U9000_FrontPrague, August 22, 2014 – Samsung announced a partnership with world-renowned artist Miguel Chevalier, who created a unique digital presentation “Origin of the Curve”. His work will accompany visitors to the Samsung booth at the IFA 2014 consumer electronics fair from September 5-10 in Berlin. The installation perfectly merges technology and art and presents a new emotional approach to creative marketing. Visitors will thus live a unique experience of Miguel Chevalier's art installation, which uses the incredible and natural appearance of the new curved Samsung UHD TV.

The installation “Origin of the Curve” consists of various overlapping arches and several curved televisions. It thus displays a virtual work of art that changes and transitions in a choreography dependent on the music of the composer Jacopo Baboni Schilingi. Infrared sensors are used by visitors to enhance the multi-sensory experience. These sensors enable interaction with the exhibition by creating distinct visual fluctuations in the form of complex color patterns on the curved TV screens.

“Origin of the Curve” is displayed in ultra-high definition to perfectly showcase the stunning and comprehensive rendition of the color properties of a curved UHD TV.

"When working with a digital gallery as a medium, I need the maximum possible display capabilities to achieve successful presentations of my works,” said the world famous artist Miguel Chevalier. "The new curved Samsung TV is a perfect match for my 'Origin of the Curve' artwork as it offers the best resolution and color capacity, in an elegant curved design that draws you in and completely surrounds the viewer."

“Origin of the Curve” is inspired by the specific shape and perfect colors in the vivid picture quality of the curved Samsung UHD TV, and demonstrates the growing fusion of the worlds of art and technology.

"Working with Miguel Chevalier brings more emotion to the relationship with our customers.” said Yoonjung Lee, Vice President of Samsung's Visual Display Division. "Starting at IFA, we will strive to imprint the 'power of the curve' in the minds of our customers by always projecting premium artistic visuals on the curved screens of the curved TV."
