s3-mini-reviewSamsung Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy The S III mini is still among the models with a significant number of users today. There are really many users of a pair of older Samsung phones today, despite the fact that no official firmware is released for them anymore. However, if these users want to keep their devices but long for Android 5.0 Lollipop, they will be able to download it soon! So, this is not the official version from Google that you would find in the Software Update section, but rather the work of experienced developers from the XDA community. However, it cannot be called a Custom ROM completely.

Unofficial updates to Lollipop are built on pure AOSP (Android Open Source Project) images published by Google on its website. Here, among other things, you can find entire lists of devices that have been provided to Google by the mobile phone manufacturers themselves, for example from Samsung. These made it very easy to report Android 5.0 Lollipop on Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S III mini in relatively functional form. However, there are still issues that should prevent users from installing Lollipop on these phones - such as sound and camera not working, and problems with Google Apps. However, this is due to the fact that this is only an early prototype ROM. But the developers continue to develop and want to release a working one Android 5.0 Lollipop pre Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S III mini in the near future.
