Samsung 850 EVOSamsung Electronics today introduced the new Samsung 850 EVO SSD drives, which are manufactured using the revolutionary 3-bit 3D V-NAND technology. The latest drives from the workshop of the memory market leader offer a significant increase in performance and endurance compared to their predecessors, making them suitable for use in ordinary computers. It can be a pleasure for our market that Samsung will start selling them already this month in 53 countries in Europe, Asia and also in the USA.

The company already introduced the Samsung 850 PRO SSD drives in July/July of this year, which used 2-bit 3D V-NAND technology, but these drives were intended primarily for professional use in high-end computers or in small and medium-sized corporate servers. However, the latest 850 EVO drives are already suitable for use among ordinary consumers, such as in notebooks and gaming computers. Samsung says the Samsung 850 EVO drives will be sold in 120GB, 250GB, 500GB and 1TB versions. The disks have a read speed of 540 MB/s and a write speed of 520 MB/s.

The 1 TB memory version also features TurboWrite technology, which ensures random write speeds of up to 90K IOPS, creating fast storage for multitasking and large data volumes. Samsung assures that its new drives can withstand writing 80 GB of data per day for 5 years in models with 1 TB and 500 GB capacity. The company finally revealed its plans for the future and plans to expand the 850 EVO series with new models for the mSATA and M.2 standards next year.
