Samsung-TV-Cover_rc_280x210As if that wasn't enough, Samsung Smart TVs have another problem. However, this one is not related to the eavesdropping of users, nor does it otherwise invade their privacy. It's more of a problem where Smart TVs show an ad every 20 to 30 minutes. That wouldn't be a particularly big problem, after all, in our country, ads appear slowly every 15 minutes. However, the fundamental problem is that they appear even if users watch content via streaming services or local storage such as USB sticks.

Most often, ads appear when using the Plex streaming tool, which allows you to stream content from your computer to your Smart TV, Xbox One, and other devices. A user on the service's official forum complained that he was being shown a Pepsi ad every 15 minutes. Users on Reddit and several Australians who use the Foxtel service integrated directly into the Smart Hub are also complaining about this ad. Foxtel immediately defended itself saying that the "Pepsi Bug" was not its fault, but a problem on Samsung's end. Australian Samsung subsequently confirmed that this was a bug in the new update and should not have been targeted at Australia. Users there have already received another update that solved the problem, but the problem continues to occur in other parts of the world.
