A new app from Google has reached another great milestone – it has over 10 million downloads three months after its launch. At first glance, it may seem like a high number, but as a result, it is nothing compared to the competition. Google Allo is just not what we want.

Google introduced Allo and Duo back in May. The first to hit the market was Duo, which is actually an app that lets you make video calls. According to statistics, it is doing slightly better than Allo, with over 50 million downloads. However, Allo has a completely different story. Four days after its launch, 5 million people installed the app, and the same in the next three months. Of course, we could have expected a similar story, since most apps experience their biggest "boom" in the first few weeks, after which they stop being talked about.

This is mainly because the app market is literally oversaturated - we have the default messaging app that comes with every phone, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Kik, etc. It's very hard to break out with a new app that does de in fact the same as the others. The biggest downside to Google Allo is the inability to send SMS messages, which means your friends have to download the app to communicate with you at all. Sure, there are a few stickers that you can then use to communicate with your friends, but honestly, is a sticker a reason to download?

So who are among the 10 million people who have downloaded Google Allo? We're just curious if Google Allo offers something that other apps don't. Do you use Allo too?
