Samsung was the company's main supplier Apple from the very beginning. The Korean manufacturer supplies several important components to its main competitor, including A-series chips or DRAM and NAND memory chips. However, since 2011, the whole situation has changed because Apple sued Samsung for patent infringement. The South Korean company now only supplies DRAM chips for iPhone 7, which was also confirmed by iFixit.

But now everything is taking a completely different direction. According to Forbes, the new main supplier for next year should be Samsung again.

OLED displays

Apple finally, they will use OLED panels in their iPhones, which will also be curved. The main supplier of this display will be none other than the rival manufacturer Samsung itself.

"Currently, the flexible OLED display market is dominated by one company, and that is Samsung..."

Memory chips

Samsung is the largest supplier of NAND flash memory chips of all time, with more than a third of the global market share. Thanks to mass production, Samsung was able to supply these chips to Apple for several years.

Now, Samsung needs a supplier as big as it was just now Apple, to take advantage of its new semiconductor technology. In 2014, Samsung poured over $14,7 billion into new chip factories. Among other things, this is his biggest investment ever. Mass production will take place next year, and ETNews reported that it will once again be a major buyer Apple.

A-series chips

One area where Samsung faces competition is processor manufacturing. The only competition here is Taiwan's TSMC, which has taken Samsung's lead as the main supplier several times. Both companies are involved in the manufacturer of A9 chips for last year iPhone 6, but now TSMC has won an exclusive contract that makes it the main manufacturer of A10 chips for iPhone 7. Here it can be expected to continue to be TSMC's main supplier in the coming year. This is unfortunately a big disappointment for Samsung.
