Twitter is having a hard time online. Networks such as Facebook and Snapchat dominate here. Twitter responded to this fact with quite interesting news. Using the Periscope app, users can now stream live 360-degree videos. Sure, live streaming is nothing new at all, but 360-degree streaming is in a different league. This feature allows for a much more immersive experience than rival Facebook Live.

In addition, Twitter also picked up the timing, because it launched the novelty at a time when virtual reality is slowly and surely starting to spread. This could significantly help the social network. In addition, Facebook Live is successful only because it allows you to broadcast live from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. Viewers can then communicate with the author of the video using comments or just watch.

Twitter wrote on its blog:

We've always said that stepping into broadcasting is like stepping into someone else's shoes. Today we present you with a more immersive way to experience these moments together. With 360-degree video on Periscope, you can start broadcasting even more immersive and engaging videos – bringing your audience closer to you. Starting today, you can use this new feature using the Periscope application.

For now, this method of streaming will only be available to a select group of users. Everyone else can join Periscope360 using this forms.
