A very surprising turn of events has not met the Chinese Xiaomi, because Hugo Barra announced his end in the company a few hours ago, he is returning to Silicon Valley. The main reason Xiaomi hired Hugo was to expand the Chinese company's brand products around the world.
For several years now, Xiaomi has been trying to push into the US market, but it still hasn't succeeded. After the company launched the so-called setup-box in this country, Xiaomi seemed to be moving towards its main goal - to become a competitive company in the US.
But now Hugo Barra has published a detailed report on his decision on his personal Facebook.
“I decided to take this step when I realized that living in such an environment for several years took a huge toll on my life, which greatly affected my health. My friends, Silicon Valley is still my home, and that's why I'm going back there - to be closer to my family.”
According to Barry, Xiaomi is doing very well on the global market, and with every new phone it challenges even the biggest companies - Apple or Samsung. However, the main revenue came from sales in India, where the company earned around $1 billion, as well as in Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
