Google boasted a new Androidem O. Right at the beginning I have to disappoint you a little. Android 8.0 (Android Oh, probably Android Oreos) is the next generation of the most used operating system for smartphones, but it does not bring any revolutionary news. There are not even changes in the user interface or graphics. This time, Google focused primarily on system optimization.

Developer Preview 1 contains only a few new features so far. However, these should increase during testing. Google is hiding them until this year's I/O conference, which will be held in May. Notices have received visible changes, through which the user can now perform several actions without having to launch the application associated with them. Developers also got new options because Google improved the API. However, users will only register these changes when developers deploy them in their applications.

Google itself admitted that the new system focuses primarily on optimization. Battery life should be improved in particular, because Android O allows you to limit the activities of applications running in the background. In other words, the user will be able to choose what exactly the application will do in the background and what it won't.

New features Android O:

• The settings have undergone major changes and now allow for even better device management
• Picture-in-Picture support for videos
• API extends autofill functionality for developer apps, where names and passwords from password managers will be filled in
• Notifications will now be divided into so-called channels and it will be possible to manage them better
• Adaptive icons will automatically adjust their shape to a square or circle and will also support animations
• Wide color gamut support to improve graphics on high-end devices
• Added support for Wi-Fi Aware, which allows two devices to send files to each other without being connected to the Internet (or to the same point)
• Support for LDAC wireless high definition audio technology
• Enhanced WebView increases security in applications offered by the web browser
• Google's improved keyboard now offers better word prediction and learns faster

Android About Developer Preview 1 you can download directly from the Google developer portal here. The new system can currently be installed on Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Nexus Player. However, keep in mind that the current build is intended primarily for experienced developers. If you want to try the new system just for fun and news, we recommend that you wait until Google launches it again Android Beta Program. This should happen in the coming weeks.
