Next week on Tuesday, the CES 2018 trade fair traditionally starts in Las Vegas, where the biggest and lesser-known companies of the world will present their technological innovations for the coming year. Of course, Samsung will not be absent from the fair and has several new products ready. Among them is the first ever curved QLED monitor with a Thunderbolt 3 interface, the premiere of which has already been announced ahead of time.

The new monitor was designated CJ791 and, in addition to connectivity in the form of Thuderbolt 3, boasts a curved QLED display of 34 inches. The panel has a resolution of 3440×1440 (QHD) and the aspect ratio of the mentioned diagonal is 21:9, so the monitor provides more space on the screen to perform more activities. Professionals can thus view files, reports and data tables in a large format more clearly without unnecessary scrolling and zooming in or out.

A big advantage of the monitor is the ability to connect to a laptop using a single Thunderbolt 3 cable without the need to connect any additional cables. Thunderbolt 3 allows users to connect a complete ecosystem consisting of docking stations, displays and peripherals including devices Apple, laptops supporting USB type-C and other accessories such as portable disks or external graphics cards. Through Thunderbolt 3, it is also possible to power the connected laptop from the monitor, with a power of up to 85 watts.

Professional users will appreciate the flexibility to adapt the CJ791 to their workspace layout requirements. The height-adjustable stand and tilting option also allow users to adjust the position of the display to work in the conditions that suit them best. QLED technology provides faithful color reproduction covering 125% of the color space with RGB and creates a unique visual impression thanks to richer blacks, brighter whites and natural rendering of color shades. The high resolution, along with the sharpest curvature available (1500R) and ultra-wide viewing angle (178 degrees), allows users to fully surround themselves with the environment.

Thanks to the integrated functions, the monitor is also ideal for avid gamers. There is a game mode that dynamically adjusts the gamma value and intuitively adjusts the colors and contrast for each individual scene to reproduce the game environment as realistically as possible. The response of the monitor is 4ms, which also ensures smooth transitions between scenes, so the monitor can be ideally used when playing games such as racing, flight simulators and first-person combat games.

Journalists will be able to view the monitor at the CES fair, specifically on the 9th-12th. January 2018 at Samsung's booth #15006, which will be located on the first floor of Central Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
