Among the leaks that are related to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy In the past weeks and months, the S9 appeared, there were also mentions of an improved iris and facial scan, with which the South Korean giant wanted to compete with Apple and its Face ID on the iPhone X. However, it seems that in the end it took a different route and created a completely new authentication method.

When she got into modeling Galaxy S8 and Note 8 a few days ago the last beta version of the 8.0 Oreo system, many developers began to examine its codes and see if they can find any interesting informace just about the upcoming model. And wonder of the world, it probably got really lucky. Indeed, one developer found in the beta lines a mention of so-called intelligent scanning, which is most likely some kind of combination between a face scan and an iris scan. This assumption is supported by the fact that we have not seen this designation on any available phone from Samsung yet.

In addition to interesting lines, the developer also showed an interesting video, which looks like a brief explanation of the newly discovered function.

As you can see for yourself in the video, smart scanning is kind of a cross between an iris scan and a face scan. For this reason alone, it is more or less clear that this should be a really reliable method, as it combines two different authentication systems, which are already quite reliable in themselves.

It is difficult to say at the moment whether this function is in the pipeline Galaxy S9 will appear or not. However, if that were the case, we could see the complete removal of the fingerprint reader from the back of the phone in a few years. Authentication using a combination of face scan and iris should be so reliable that it would playfully put a classic fingerprint in your pocket. However, let's not be surprised, because in the final it can be something completely different.
