Earlier this evening, Samsung showed off its new flagship models at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona Galaxy S9 to Galaxy S9+. These are directly related to last year's "ace-eights", which above all proves the identical design except for a handful of changes. We saw improvements mainly inside the phone, both in terms of hardware and software. The camera, sound, performance, security and also the transformation into a desktop computer have gone through a significant progression.

Camera
Definitely the biggest attraction Galaxy S9 and S9+ is a completely redesigned camera. The phones are equipped with a Super Speed Dual Pixel sensor with special computing power and memory and have a new lens with a variable aperture, which is therefore suitable even in low light conditions. Similarly interesting is the possibility of taking super-slow-motion shots and creating animated emojis with the help of augmented reality. Camera Galaxy The S9 and S9+ includes the following features:
- Super slow-motion videos: Galaxy S9 to Galaxy The S9+ are the second smartphones in the world to be able to capture up to 960 frames per second when recording video. The phones also offer a smart automatic motion detection function that detects movement in the image and automatically starts recording – all you have to do is set the composition correctly. After taking super slow motion shots, it is possible to choose background music from 35 different options, or assign a melody to the video from a list of favorite songs. With a simple tap, users can also create, edit and share GIF files, while using three playful loop modes to replay the footage.
- Quality photos in low light conditions: Most smartphones are equipped with a fixed aperture that cannot adapt to low or high light environments, resulting in grainy or faded images. Samsung therefore decided to take the camera in smartphones to a new level and Galaxy Both the S9 and S9+ offer a variable aperture that can be switched between F1.5 and F2.4.
- Animated Emoji: One of the other major innovations of the phones is the ability to create emojis that will look, sound and behave just like their users. Emoticons use augmented reality (AR Emoji) and a machine algorithm that analyzes a two-dimensional image of the user, maps more than 100 facial features and then creates a three-dimensional model. In this way, the camera detects, for example, blinking or shaking. AR Emoji can then be turned into a video or stickers that can then be shared.
- Bixby: The smart assistant integrated into the camera provides useful through augmented reality and machine learning technologies informace about the surroundings. Using real-time object detection and recognition, Bixby can deliver instantly informace directly into the image the camera is pointing at. It is thus possible, using instant translation, to have foreign language texts translated in real time or to recalculate the price in a foreign currency, to learn informace about your surroundings, buy the products you see in front of you, or calculate your caloric intake throughout the day.
Improved sound
Galaxy The S9 and S9+ have undergone a significant transformation in terms of sound as well. The phones now feature stereo speakers, which are also tuned to perfection by sister company AKG. While one speaker is traditionally located on the bottom edge of the phone, the other one is directly above the display – Samsung has improved the speaker used only for calls so far. The new generation of DeX
Last year's models also introduced the DeX docking station, which was able to turn a smartphone into a desktop computer. Today, Samsung showed off the second generation of this docking station, and its name has also changed hand in hand. Thanks to the new Dex Pad dock can be connected Galaxy S9 and S9+ for a larger monitor, keyboard and mouse. The main innovation is that the phone connected to the DeX Pad itself can be turned into a touchpad. Dex Pad will be available in the Czech Republic during April at a price of CZK 2.

It is already a tradition that Samsung's flagship phones support wireless charging, are water and dust resistant with an IP68 degree of protection, and in case Galaxy The S9 and S9+ are no different. But the novelty now allows you to expand the storage up to 400 GB and is equipped with the latest high-end processors that offer high performance and sophisticated image processing.
The security of the phones has also been improved and is now protected by the latest Samsung Knox 3.1 security platform, which meets the parameters of the defense industry. Galaxy The S9 and S9+ support three different biometric authentication options – iris, fingerprint and facial recognition – so users can choose the best way to protect their device and apps. What's new is the Intelligent Scan function, which is an identity verification method that intelligently uses the combined strengths of iris scanning and facial recognition technology to quickly and conveniently unlock the user's phone in a variety of situations. Telephones Galaxy The S9 and S9+ also feature Dedicated Fingerprint, which gives users the option to use a different fingerprint than the one used to unlock the phone to access the secure folder.
Thanks to the improved optical sensor built right into the Galaxy S9 and S9+ also take health care to a higher level, as they provide richer and more accurate informace about the health status of the user. The sensor allows phones to track a user's cardiac stress factor, a new way of measuring the demands placed on the heart, in real time.
Prices and sales:
In the Czech Republic, both models will be available in three color variants – Midnight Black, Coral Blue and the brand new Lilac Purple. Recommended model price Galaxy The S9 will cost 21 CZK for the version with 999GB of storage and 64 CZK for the model with 24 GB of storage. Prices of larger Galaxy The S9+ then stopped at CZK 24 (499 GB) or CZK 64 (26 GB).
In our market, it will be possible to get a Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ in the 64 GB version can be pre-ordered from 18:00 today. Pre-orders will run until March 15. However, if you order the phone by March 3, you will receive it on Friday March 8.3. – that is, a whole week earlier before the official launch of sales.
