Samsung presents an initiative under the name Pilot Season, which brings exclusive episodic content to the Gear VR platform. The initiative will bring original virtual reality episodic content to the Samsung VR Video service. The program is part of Samsung's efforts to bring more interactive VR-enabled content to its platform.

Through the Pilot Season program, the company provided grants to select independent creators to create original episodes in VR. Samsung even provided creators with a professional 360-degree camera that has 17 cameras. The device can both record and broadcast live. It also supports real-time calibration or color and light correction options.

Pilot episodes of all six series developed under the Pilot Season initiative are now available via Samsung VR Video on Gear VR. So if you own the headset, you can access the Samsung VR Video service through the Oculus Store. You can find the episodes in the section Featured.

The series cover different topics, for example, you can see how the way you look at the world is changing. To access the episodes, you need a Samsung phone that is compatible with the Gear VR.
