So it's finally here. What was speculated about for months, Samsung finally turned into reality yesterday. On the occasion of the presentation of the new phablet Galaxy Note9 and watch Galaxy Watch he also showed us his own smart speaker. He named it Galaxy Home and wants to compete primarily with Apple's HomePod. Above all, it boasts a very high-quality sound coming from an elegant body.

Appearance of the speaker Galaxy The Home is truly unconventional, and if you put this product next to existing speakers from competitors, you probably wouldn't say it's a similar type of product. At first glance, it looks more like a kind of vase on the feet or a statue that some of us could imagine as a decoration for your home. On the upper side of the speaker you will find buttons for skipping tracks and changing the volume, while the lower side is decorated with three metal legs.

The speaker boasts surround sound provided by six built-in speakers and a subwoofer. Eight microphones for detecting voice input will ensure a great reception of your commands. You activate the speaker with the phrase “Hi, Bixby” and then just ask it to play your song or perform the action you want it to. According to Samsung, the speaker should handle the vast majority of things that Bixby users will enjoy on their phones as well.

Unfortunately, more details did not fit into the presentation of the speaker. The work on the product is still ongoing, so the start of sales of this product is still unclear. We will probably learn more details in the coming months, with a large amount of information coming to us in November at Samsung's developer conference.

Let's see what Samsung will finally deliver on us. But if it wants to make a name for itself in the crowded smart speaker market, it will have to come up with a really good product that will excel in practically every way.
