Samsung has been working on a foldable smartphone for quite some time. According to the latest information, it would Galaxy F, as Samsung's foldable smartphone is called, was not supposed to have Gorilla Glass. The South Korean company uses Gorilla Glass on many of its phones, but makes an exception for the foldable smartphone due to technological limitations. Samsung has revealed that it wants to start selling a foldable smartphone early next year. For the time being, he has not yet confirmed what his exact name will be, but there is speculation about the mentioned name Galaxy F.

Galaxy The F will probably not get Gorilla Glass protection, because then the device would not be able to fold as Samsung intends. Instead of Gorilla Glass, Samsung will use transparent polyimide from the Japanese company Sumitomo Chemical. It's not as durable as Gorilla Glass, but it's the only reason it can do it Galaxy F to maintain its flexibility.

Foldable smartphones are expected to become a hit next year, so it probably won't surprise you that even Corning, the company that makes Gorilla Glass, is working on a flexible version of its protective glass.

Samsung should present a foldable smartphone at a developer conference in November, however, the device will not go on sale until next year.
