Gone are the days when Samsung phones were overwhelmed with tons of pre-installed apps. Even so, we can find some here, and one of them is Facebook.

After Facebook's privacy and security scandals in 2018, many users decided to completely delete their accounts on the network, which of course also includes deleting the mobile application. But a lot of Samsung smartphone users have found that the Facebook app cannot be uninstalled, only deactivated. However, the problem is that this is not enough for someone, and various forums began to be flooded with questions about why it is not possible to delete the application. According to a Facebook spokesperson, it's not really possible to delete the app, but deactivating it makes the app behave as if it's been uninstalled and no data is collected or sent anymore. Samsung also said directly that the disabled app doesn't even run in the background anymore.

But now comes the controversial part. According to information from the past few weeks, some applications (among them, for example, TripAdvisor used in the Czech Republic) are sending informace Facebook without the phone owner's knowledge, even though they don't have a Facebook account. It is enough to have the application of this social network installed on your phone.

It is not clear how many models of the South Korean giant have this indelible version of Facebook, nor when the companies made an agreement between themselves that Facebook will be pre-installed on Samsung phones. However, when we read the forums, we found out that these are series phones Galaxy S8 and S9. However, we also discovered that the application can surprisingly be deleted for these models purchased from some operators. Unfortunately, there were also reactions in which some users could not get over the indelibility of Facebook and decided to leave the Samsung brand because of it.

Not only Facebook, the rival social network Twitter's app is also pre-installed on some phones, but according to the company's management, the app does not collect any data until the user logs into their account.

How are you doing? Do you use the Facebook app on your phone? Is it possible to delete it? Let us know in the comments.
