Press Release: Western Digital Corp. (NASDAQ: WDC) introduced innovative external drives at IFA 2019 WD My Passport™ a WD_My Passport for Mac. This award-winning product line has now been expanded with the thinnest external portable drive with a capacity of 5 TB. The drive is only 19,15 mm (0,75”) thin, has a stylish design, compact dimensions and fits in the palm of your hand. The new drive has a large capacity for storing, sorting and sharing a huge amount of photos, videos, music files and other documents.

New stylish drives in a modern design are available in capacities of up to 5 TB*. The My Passport range is offered in attractive new colors including black, blue and red. The version of My Passport for Mac is dark blue. My Passport drives are formatted for Windows® 10 and have a USB 3.0 connector backward compatible with the USB 2.0 interface. My Passport for Mac is formatted for macOS Mojave and has a USB-C connector, so it's ready to use right out of the box.
These external drives also provide additional protection for stored digital content thanks to WD Security™ software (password protection and 256-bit AES hardware encryption), the ability to back up content from social media and cloud storage (such as Facebook, Dropbox and Google Drive™)** and have also the WD Drive Utilities™ management software. The new external drives use Western Digital's proven reliability and are backed by a three-year limited warranty.
Price and availability
The new My Passport external drives will be available through online stores and select retailers. Prices will start at CZK 1 for the 790TB model and end at CZK 1 for the 4TB model. For the My Passport for Mac model, the recommended final price is CZK 780.
