TCL Electronics (1070.HK), a dominant player in the global television market and a leader in the field of consumer electronics products, unveiled a new generation of display technology, Vidrian™ Mini-LED technology, for the first time at CES 2020 - the Consumer Electronics Show.

TCL once again takes the lead in global display technology innovation, delivering stunning next-generation picture performance. TCL's new Vidrian Mini-LED technology brings the world's first backlight panels that have semiconductor circuits and tens of thousands of micron-class mini-LED diodes deposited directly into a crystal-clear glass substrate plate.

Vidrian Mini-LED technology is the next stage in pushing the performance of LCD LED TV screens to an unsurpassed level of sharp contrast, brilliant luminance and highly stable and long-term performance. Once this high-performance backlight technology is combined with TCL's large 8K LCD screens, users will be able to enjoy an immersive experience regardless of lighting conditions. They will be completely immersed in the action in the darkest areas of the home cinema or watch an exciting sporting event during the day in a room bathed in sunlight. TCL TVs with Vidrian Mini-LED technology provide uncompromising screen performance in any room and at any time of day.

"We believe that Mini-LED technology will form the near future of the industry and TCL is already pushing this technology in its TVs," says Kevin Wang, CEO of TCL Industrial Holdings and TCL Electronics, adding: “This year we are introducing the world's first Vidrian Mini-LED technology. This move is an expression of the efforts of the whole TCL company to bring better TV viewing experiences to people around the world.”

Stunning performance

Unlike the technologies used in older TVs that struggle with daylight when viewed in rooms and cause problems during long-term TV use, TCL TVs with Vidrian Mini-LED technology will provide exceptional contrast and stunning brilliant brightness that is perfectly suited to any conditions and way to watch TV, for different groups of users, from movie buffs who crave accurate display and detail, to fast PC gamers who demand continuous performance with lightning-fast color rendering.

If we use panels of clear glass covering a size of 65 or 75 inches or more, and apply tens of thousands of small light sources that can be individually and precisely controlled, we get a stunning performance of a television that can play in a league of its own.

World-class display

This year, TCL brings another respectable entry in the history of the development and innovation of technology used in televisions, which excites customers and critics alike, and introduces its new powerful Vidrian Mini-LED technology. TCL has full in-house control of the entire manufacturing process, benefiting from an $8 billion investment in a recently opened state-of-the-art automated screen factory, utilizing proprietary solutions and automated production of LCD panels and newly also glass light panels using Vidrian Mini- ICE. Compared to the existing manufacturing process of LED LCD monitors that use traditional printed circuit board manufacturing technology, TCL has newly developed a process that fuses semiconductor circuits into a crystal glass substrate. The result is higher efficiency, greater light accuracy and higher luminosity. Together with slim design, long-lasting performance, sharp contrast, enhanced vivid colors and greater picture clarity, TCL TVs with Vidrian Mini-LED technology will bring more entertainment and joy to customers than ever before.
