Samsung phone Galaxy The A7 (2018) is almost three years old, but it still gets updates that bring more than just security fixes. One such update has just arrived on it, and in addition to the older security patch, it brings support for an important feature – Google RCS.

As a reminder - Google RCS (Rich Communication Services) is an advanced SMS protocol that brings features we know from messaging apps like WhatsApp to the default messaging app. It allows, among other things, to chat with friends via Wi-Fi, create group chats, send photos and videos in high resolution or see if the other party writes or has read your message.

Samsung and Google have been working on implementing RCS in the former's phones since 2018. However, the feature only started arriving on its devices late last year. Update for Galaxy The A7 (2018) otherwise carries firmware version A750FXXU5CUD3 and is currently distributed in India. She should head to other countries of the world in the following days. It includes the April security patch and (traditionally) unspecified camera improvements.
