Advice Galaxy The S22 has finally been officially unveiled. The new smartphones bring various improvements over their predecessors, including brighter displays, faster performance, better cameras and newer software. But it makes sense to upgrade to Galaxy S22 if you already have it Galaxy S21?

Better construction and brighter display

If you like compact phones, Galaxy You will easily like the S22. It has a slightly smaller display (6,1 inches) than the Galaxy S21 (6,2 inches) and as a result is smaller overall, i.e. lower and narrower. It also has thinner and more even bezels. Both phones use Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O displays with Full HD+ resolution, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, HDR10+ and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader in the display.

Galaxy However, the S22 has a higher peak brightness of 1 nits (compared to the 500 nits of Galaxy S21) and uses improved screen protection in the form of Gorilla Glass Victus+, which is also present on the back of the device. The display of last year's model is protected only by Gorilla Glass Victus, and its back is then plastic. Both phones have stereo speakers and an IP68 degree of protection.

Improved cameras

Galaxy The S21 featured a 12MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 64MP camera with 3x hybrid zoom. Its successor retains only the ultra-wide-angle camera. The wide-angle one has a new 50 MPx, the telephoto lens has a 10 MPx and will provide three times optical zoom, which means that it should offer better image and video quality when zooming in. The result is better images and videos in all lighting conditions, no matter what lens you're shooting with, even thanks to software enhancements. The front camera is unchanged and is still a 10MP camera. Both phones offer 4K video recording at 60 frames per second and 8K video recording at 24 frames per second.

Performance and updates

With an Exynos 2200 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, it provides Galaxy S22 higher performance than Galaxy S21. It will also receive four operating system updates, which means it will be compatible with Androidem 16 while support Galaxy S21 ends at Androidu 15. Both phones have 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage, and both also lack a microSD card slot. Galaxy S21 to Galaxy The S22 is then equipped with 5G (mmWave and sub-6GHz), LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi 6, NFC and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port. A USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port is also available on both. However, the latter uses Bluetooth 5.2.

Charging and endurance

Due to the smaller body it is Galaxy The S22 is only equipped with a 3mAh battery. A more economical processor and a slightly smaller display could mean lower energy consumption, but only time and tests will tell whether the new product can cope with the 700mAh battery in Galaxy S21 keep up. Both phones are equipped with 25W fast charging via USB PD, 15W wireless charging and 4,5W reverse wireless charging.

Galaxy So the S22 has a better but smaller display, higher performance, better cameras, a more premium build and extended support for software updates than Galaxy S21. But it can also be characterized by a shorter battery life.
