We already know the shape and specification of the entire series Galaxy The Tab S8 we've been waiting a year and a half for. And that is a relatively long time, even with regard to the development of the chips that power the devices themselves. The novelty then brings several improvements, including cameras, processing and the functionality of the S Pen.

Display and cameras

Galaxy The Tab S8+ and Tab S7+ have a similar 12,4-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1752 and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Both models have a fingerprint sensor in the display. In terms of display technology, not much has changed.

The camera system, however, is a different story. Galaxy This year, the Tab S8+ is equipped with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera in addition to the usual 6MP primary camera. This is a slight improvement over the 5MPx ultra-wide sensor used by the Tab S7+. In addition, the novelty also has an improved front camera, which has a resolution of 8 MPx compared to the original 12 MPx.

Hardware specifications and performance

They have under the hood Galaxy Tab S8+ and Tab S7+ have many common features. It's true that both tablets have a 10mAh battery with 090W fast wired charging. New Galaxy The Tab S8+, of course, uses Qualcomm's more powerful chipset, namely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It represents the best that the mobile world currently has to offer, and thanks to its installation, users will have the maximum possible performance.

As for memory options, Galaxy The Tab S8+ has a different situation with phones Galaxy The S22's RAM memory is higher than its predecessor, on the other hand, the internal storage has suffered. While the new model has at least 8 GB of RAM and with a higher configuration it reaches 12 GB of RAM (compared to 6 and 8 GB), the storage is limited to 128 or 256 GB. In addition, the company is not even planning a 512GB variant, which is reserved only for the model Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. On the other hand, there is a microSD card slot supporting up to 1 TB.

Design and build quality

Armor Aluminum may seem like Samsung's new marketing buzzword, but it brings real benefits to the latest line of tablets. This material was used for frames for the first time Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 and now Samsung uses the same solution in the series Galaxy S22 to Galaxy Tab S8. Compared with Galaxy Tab S7+ Samsung claims the Tab S8+ bends 40% less thanks to the use of this new material. The Tab S8+ otherwise retains flat edges and, like the 2020 model, will allow the S Pen to be attached to the magnetic surface next to the rear photo module.

S Pen and others

This year, Samsung improved the functionality of the S Pen with several new options. First, the Collaboration View feature allows tablet owners to Galaxy Tab S8 and S22 Ultra to sync these devices and use both at the same time in applications such as Samsung Notes. The smaller device can be used as a toolkit, while the tablet remains free of distracting user interface elements. So the pen works with both devices at the same time. The same is true of Clip Studio Paint. Galaxy The Tab S8 also newly supports LumaFusion for video editing.
