The Pixel Notepad (that's the unofficial name) flexible phone is back in the spotlight these days, thanks to a tweet from well-known mobile display insider Ross Young. He published on his Twitter when the first Google "puzzle" will most likely be released.

Young said in his latest tweet that "it looks like" the panels for the American tech giant's flexible phone will begin production in the 3rd quarter of this year and the device will be revealed to the public in the following quarter, between October and December.

Google's first foldable smartphone seems to have had a not-so-smooth development. Originally thought to be called the Pixel Fold, reports hit the airwaves last November that Google had scrapped it , allegedly out of concern that the device wouldn't be able to compete Samsung Galaxy ZFold3 (or to his as yet unannounced successor). They surfaced last month informace, that the phone is alive and that it has been renamed Pixel Notepad (supposedly to avoid possible confusion with the series Galaxy From Fold).

In January, reports also hit the airwaves that the Pixel Notepad would cost $1, which would be $399 less than what it originally sold for Galaxy From Fold3. Otherwise, according to the available leaks, the phone will have a 7,6-inch OLED display with LTPO technology supporting a variable refresh rate with a maximum of 120 Hz, a Google Tensor chipset, 12 GB of memory, a double camera with a resolution of 12,2 and 12 MPx, two 8MPx front cameras (one on the internal, the second on the external display) and support for 5G networks.
