Yesterday we you informed about how Samsung changed the refresh rate specifications of the series' displays in its press release Galaxy S22 and S22+. It moved the lower limit of 10 Hz up to 48 Hz. The fact that this is indeed the case is now also confirmed by the official website Samsung.cz and also the Czech representation of the company.

Yes, on the website Samsung.cz the values are already corrected, which was not the case yesterday at the time of writing the original article. However, the statement of the official representative of Samsung for the Czech Republic, which managed to obtain the magazine, is more interesting Mobilize.cz, and which explains the situation.

“We would like to clarify any confusion regarding the refresh rate of the phones display Galaxy S22 and S22+. Although the display component of both devices supports a refresh rate of 48 to 120 Hz, Samsung's proprietary technology offers an adjustable refresh rate of the display and allows reducing the data transfer rate from the processor to the display down to 10 Hz.

The reason is to reduce energy consumption. The refresh rate of the display was originally specified as 10 to 120 Hz (10 to 120 fps), however we later decided to communicate this information in a way that is consistent with a generally accepted standard. We assure consumers that there has been no change in hardware specifications and both devices support up to 120Hz for ultra-smooth content viewing.” stated David Sahula, press spokesman of the company. Samsung Electronics Czech and Slovak.

In other words, it can be said that if the values of the display are given, then it is not designed to display content at 10 Hz frequencies, and therefore such a label would be misleading. However, it is with the help of the company's proprietary software that it reaches this limit, but not with its features as software options. Thus, nothing should change for the user, and the originally stated range should therefore still apply.

Newly introduced Samsung products will be available for purchase, for example, on Alza
