The highest model of the Samsung range Galaxy S22, that is S22Ultra, appeared in the test on mobile photography of the specialized website DxOMark. If you thought he hit the bullseye here, we're going to disappoint you. The phone scored 131 points in the test, just like last year's "flagship" company Oppo Find X3 Pro, and it is quite far from the front ranks. The 13th position belongs to him.

Let's start with the pros first. DxOMark praises Galaxy S22 Ultra for pleasant white balance and faithful color under all conditions. Thanks to its wide dynamic range, the smartphone also maintains good exposure in most scenes. In addition, the new Ultra received praise for its naturally simulated bokeh effect in portrait photos, maintaining nice colors and exposure at all zoom settings, fast and smooth autofocus in videos, good video stabilization in motion and good exposure and wide dynamic range in bright videos lights and indoors.

As for the negatives, according to DxOMark, the S22 Ultra has a relatively slow autofocus for photos, where it is surpassed in this area by, for example, the aforementioned Oppo Find X3 Pro. The website also pointed out the inconsistent sharpness between video frames when the camera moves during filming, especially in low light conditions.

It should be noted that DxOMark tested the S22 Ultra variant with the chip Exynos 2200, which will be sold in Europe, Africa, South-West Asia and the Middle East. The website will also test the variant with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which will be available in North and South America or China, for example. While it might seem that there will be no difference between the two variants in this regard, as they have the same sensors on the front and back, the two chipsets have different image processors that may have different imaging algorithms and computational photography software. Identical sensors can thus ultimately produce different photos.

For the sake of completeness, let's add that the DxOMark ranking is currently led by the new "flagship" of the company Huawei P50 Pro with 144 points, followed by the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra with 143 points, and the top three of the currently best photomobiles is rounded off by the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ with 139 points. Apple iPhone 13 Pro (Max) is fourth.
