The latest and currently also the most powerful smartphones from Samsung, i.e. the series Galaxy S22, have many impressive specifications. On the other hand, there is something that not every user necessarily likes. We are, of course, talking about the missing option to expand the internal memory. Samsung knows this and is now trying to address it.
Therefore, the South Korean company introduced its new flash drives that can be easily connected to smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers and store data on them in the usual way, moving files from one device to another. The USB Type-C flash drives are available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB versions and feature Samsung's proprietary NAND flash chips with USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity (backwards compatible with USB 2.0).
The manufacturer also promises a sequential reading speed of up to 400 MB/s for the new disks. That's enough speed to quickly transfer hundreds of 4K/8K images or video files in seconds. The dimensions of the drives are very compact, as each device is only 33,7 x 15,9 x 6,4 mm and weighs only 3,4 g.
The body itself is also waterproof (72 hours at a depth of 1 m), resistant to impacts, magnetization, high and low temperatures (0 °C to 60 °C in operation, -10 °C to 70 °C non-operation) and X-rays (e.g. when checking in at the airport), so you don't have to worry too much about the security of your data. Samsung also offers a five-year warranty on these storage devices. Pricing and availability for various markets are not yet known.
where can they be bought? thank you Vlad
Hello, we are still waiting. Samsung is yet to inform about prices and availability.
So this is a pretty pathetic and total nonsense as a replacement for the internal MicroSD card. Samsung can't even think of that as a joke!
It is an optional accessory, which of course you do not have to buy and use. With the popularity of cloud services, Samsung simply sees that the size of physical storage on the device no longer matters so much.
: )
How can he? How will it be bundled with the phone? Or will he send on request? 🙄
I'm looking forward to it. It's not a replacement for the card, but it will still be useful. Then let us know in what form Samsung will distribute the flash drives. Thank you.
This is an alternative, and of course a paid one.
It is clearly written in the title that Samsung will give it to me. When someone gives something, they obviously don't want anything in return.
Of course you won't get it for free, for God's sake!!
It's really pathetic, not to put card support in the most advantageous model, but in cheap ones, for example Samsung Galaxy A22 for 5000 CZK shows them that it is only a matter of forcing them to buy S22 with larger storage. This will not bring customers to Samsung
What's worse, flagships even from competitors do not have memory cards, while ordinary smartphones from them do.

Only 256GB? This is quite a bit, since there are also 1TB flash drives on the market.
