It's been a month since Samsung introduced its line Galaxy S22. Unlike previous years, the premium Ultra model is fundamentally different from its smaller variants. So even though they are powered by the same chipsets and share a lot of internal components, the devices are very different in design. Regardless, they are all very difficult to fix.

As in previous years, Samsung's new flagship phones use a strong adhesive to keep the back glass panel, display and battery in place. Therefore, although many internal components can be replaced with just a simple screwdriver, getting to these parts is first of all a demanding and rather lengthy process, which poses a high risk of damage, especially to the glass components. Not to mention the fact that the battery has no tabs to make it easier to remove.

Galaxy The S22 and S22 Ultra received a repairability rating of 3/10

With a repairability score of 3/10 which they iFixit granted, they are not Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra the absolute worst, but definitely not suitable for any home repairs. For disassembly, you'll need a heat gun, the proper tools, and suction cups to even attempt to take these new phones apart safely. Even in such a case, however, you may be unlucky and the device can be easily damaged by improper handling.

As for the internal hardware, the step-by-step teardown video above offers a closer look at the new cooling system that the series Galaxy The S22 Ultra uses, as well as an improved haptic response engine, camera modules, S Pen space and more. A model after all Galaxy The S22 Ultra is the first S-series phone to take full advantage of the S Pen via a dedicated integrated slot.
