A few years ago, the Chinese company Huawei was one of the biggest players in the smartphone field, competing with Samsung. However, in the spring of 2019, a major turning point came for her when the US government placed her on a blacklist, making it impossible for her to access American technologies, including chips. Later, Huawei at least got to 4G chipsets. Now he came up with an original solution to get 5G network support in his smartphones.

This solution is a special case with a built-in 5G modem. How "it all" works is unknown at this time. In any case, the connection is apparently made via a USB-C port, which means that the level of signal reception will be lower than if such a modem were available at the hardware level. Even with that, however, fans of the brand could put up with it.

It is currently unclear when Huawei might launch the special case and how much it might cost. It is not even known what devices it will support and if it will be available outside of China. In any case, it is a very novel solution that could at least partially tear the thorn out of the "4G heel" of the former smartphone giant.
