Samsung today officially unveiled its 32-inch monitor and smart TV in one Smart Monitor M8, which it previously announced at CES 2022. At the same time, it opened global pre-orders for it.

The Smart Monitor M8 has an LCD display with a 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 px), an aspect ratio of 16:9, a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a peak brightness of 400 nits. The display covers 99% of the sRGB color spectrum and supports HDR10+ content. The monitor is only 11,4 mm thin and weighs 9,4 kg.

In addition, the device received support for the AirPlay 2 protocol and wireless DeX and the function of remote access to a PC. It also offers a 2.2-channel stereo system with two 5W speakers and two tweeters, a magnetically detachable SlimFit webcam with Full HD resolution, one HDMI port and two USB-C ports. In terms of wireless connectivity, the monitor supports Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2. The operating system is, unsurprisingly, Tizen OS, which enables the launch of popular applications such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ or Apple TV. Support for the Bixby voice assistant was also not forgotten.

The Smart Monitor M8 will be available in white, pink, blue and green and will cost $730 (about CZK 16) in the US. Samsung has not announced when it will enter the market outside the US, but it should be in the near future. Apparently, it will also be offered in Europe. If the design reminds you of something, the South Korean manufacturer was certainly inspired by Apple's 400" iMac, which seems to have fallen out of sight, only missing its iconic lower chin. Of course, it's not a computer either. You can learn more about the monitor on the website Samsung.
