It's been a month since the first reports of artificially slowing down the CPU and GPU performance of phone lines Galaxy S in connection with GOS, i.e. the Game Optimization Service. It restricted more than 10 applications and games, including TikTok, Netflix and Instagram. But it forgot about the benchmark applications, so they provided data that did not represent the real performance. And all this apparently caused a significant decrease in interest in news.
This is mainly a decrease in sales in the home market of South Korea, where Samsung has a significant position, and therefore it hurts him perhaps all the more. Indeed, local media reports point to declining sales of Samsung's latest flagships despite the fact that it has already released an update to fix the GOS behavior. The situation thus forced Samsung's operator partners to sharply increase phone subsidies Galaxy S22 to sell more units.
KT and LG Uplus have confirmed that they have increased phone subsidies Galaxy S22 and S22+ up to 500 won (approx. 000 thousand CZK). Operators have previously increased subsidies by the same amount for Galaxy S22 Ultra. They are now more than three times higher than the 150 won (approx. CZK 000) originally offered. One of the representatives of the local mobile operator let it be heard that "there is an opinion that the problem with GOS negatively affects model sales Galaxy S22".
But it is not the only problem. Advice Galaxy The S22 suffers from too many childish errors, which Samsung tries to patch with updates afterwards, so maybe there is no need to look for one culprit, but it is an overall picture for the line, which in light of all the events is not very pleasant. The last cause is, for example, bad synchronization of sound with video, especially when using headphones.
That's weird, I can hear the voice in the headphones when he opens his mouth at the same time, no games are slowing down or crashing. What sometimes goes awry are things that my computer also does, the screen saver freezes for a while, it gets stuck while scrolling the net, etc. But I've had that with all phones.
Of course, errors do not apply to every piece. We did not encounter any known problems on the tested devices either.
My 22Ultra doesn't suffer from that, which I'm glad about! Unfortunately, my display freezes 2-3 times a day, my old S20 didn't do this...Otherwise, I really enjoy the phone, I definitely don't regret buying it!
Rather, they are still not able to deliver those phones.
Otherwise, apart from the appearance, the phones do not bring any ground-breaking news compared to the previous versions.
The S22 and the mentioned problems don't bother me, but the 12h battery life is miserable.
S22 is stuck with errors. After the last update, I don't like the sound compared to the picture anymore, and I can even be called, which I rate as a big plus, but the animation has stopped, and for a change, the phone ends calls for me whenever it likes. There is no question of lower latency on 5G compared to LTE, or vice versa, but that could be a problem with the operator (T-Mobile)
The last update fixed the animation glitches for me. Fortunately, I haven't had any other problems since the beginning. Even the battery has calmed down and I usually end the day with 40+%. I have never had to charge my phone during the day.
Fortunately, I did not experience any of the problems with my S22, which I am for
really happy
I've had an S22 ultra since February and the only thing that happened was that the start screen occasionally froze, but that was fixed by the update. Otherwise, the phone is great, the battery is ok, I charge it to 85% percent and in the evening I still have 25 to 30%, so I'm satisfied
