Samsung announced its revenue estimates for the first quarter of this year. Thanks to solid sales of semiconductor chips and smartphones, the company expects to post its highest first-quarter profit since 2018.

Samsung estimates that in the first quarter of this year, its sales will amount to 78 trillion won (roughly 1,4 trillion CZK) and an operating profit of 14,1 trillion won (approximately 254 billion CZK). In the first case, it would be a year-on-year increase of almost 18%, in the second, by more than 50%. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2021, sales would increase by 1,66%, then operating profit by 0,56%. The Korean technology giant expects its semiconductor business to generate 25 trillion won (about CZK 450 billion) in sales and 8 trillion won (roughly CZK 144 million) in operating profit.

Analysts expect Samsung's growth to be steady throughout the year as chip prices are expected to recover. The Korean giant is unlikely to be affected by geopolitical factors such as the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. By all accounts, he has managed to diversify his supply chain and his factory in Russia appears to be operating normally.
