A test model arrived at our editorial office Galaxy S22, which has its biggest competition not only in last year's model in the form of the S21 series, but also in the beginning of the year introduced Galaxy S21 FE. And since we also have him in the editorial office, we were able to properly compare both of these smartphones.
The packaging is nothing too surprising. Advice Galaxy The S22 keeps the uniform design of the box, because the FE model is after all a "fan" one, its box is also a bit more playful. However, even though the phone is black, the box is white. Inside both are just a few booklets, nothing more, nothing less, apart from the phones, different colored USB-C charging cables, and the SIM tray ejector tool.

Size can be the main thing
Both phones share the same design language that Samsung has established with the range Galaxy S21, and which is very pleasant. Samsung Galaxy The S21 FE has dimensions of 155,7 x 74,5 x 7,9 mm and weighs 177 g. Its display is 6,4" Dynamic AMOLED 2X with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels at 401 ppi, it also has a 120Hz refresh rate, which it is not adaptive. If you want, you can switch to just 60 Hz.

Galaxy The S22 has physical dimensions of 146 x 70,6 x 7,6 mm, which is due to its smaller 6,1” display. The weight is 168 g. Compared to the S21 FE model, it does not make such a difference, mainly because the novelty has a glass back, while the FE model has a plastic one. Here, too, there is a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, which even has the same resolution (2340 × 1080) and therefore reaches 425 ppi. The refresh rate is adaptive, up to 120 Hz.
Although it may not look like that at first glance, the 0,3 inch difference is quite noticeable. That's why Samsung came up with this size for the FE model to fill the gap between the base model and the Plus model. Personally, I see it as absolutely ideal, because where the S22+ with a 6,6" display can already be large and the S22 with a 6,1" display can be small, the 6,4" is actually the ideal middle ground. When we have a 6,7" Ultra here, it's quite a shame that the Plus model doesn't represent the diagonal size that the FE has. But it is true that this way the offer is at least more separated and the models do not cannibalize each other.

Although the newer model has the same brightness, its resolution is only 10MPx, but it has Dual Pixel PDAF. So it will be interesting to compare which one takes better photos. Performance, memory, battery

Apart from the size, specifications and skills of the cameras, the price also plays a major role. Because it is Galaxy The older S21 FE, and also less equipped, is cheaper, and the display size doesn't change anything. Although it is larger, it is technologically worse, thanks to the absence of an adaptive refresh rate. Its price in the basic 128GB version is around 19 CZK. But it can also be found cheaper, because sellers already offer discounts on it. The 256GB memory variant costs around 21 CZK. 128GB Galaxy The S22 hovers around the 22 CZK mark, and you will pay 23 CZK for higher memory storage.

If Samsung separated the prices a little more, it would be a lot easier to decide. Thus, the difference here is "only" three thousand CZK, which is not much considering what s Galaxy You get the S22 – better construction quality, a better but smaller display, higher performance and better camera specifications. But both phones are great, and you can't go wrong with either.
You don't mention anywhere that in practice the Samsung S21 FE is a superlag edition, because as soon as you use it normally, you can't help but notice how it lags terribly after waking up. With the performance of the 888, it shouldn't do it at all.
