ZTE has launched a new "super flagship" Axon 40 Ultra. It is particularly attractive for a very capable rear photo setup, sub-display camera and design.

The Axon 40 Ultra has a significantly curved AMOLED display (according to the manufacturer, it is specifically curved at an angle of 71°) with a size of 6,81 inches, FHD+ resolution, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a peak brightness of 1500 nits and very minimal frames. It is powered by Qualcomm's current flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, which is supported by 8 or 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB to 1 TB of internal memory.

The camera is triple with a resolution of 64 MPx, while the main one is based on the Sony IMX787 sensor and has a top aperture of the f/1.6 lens and optical image stabilization (OIS). The second is a "wide-angle" that uses the same sensor as the main camera and also has OIS, and the third is a periscope camera with OIS and support for up to 5,7x optical zoom. All three cameras can record video in 8K resolution.

The selfie camera has a resolution of 16 MPx and is hidden under the display. The manufacturer claims that the pixels in the area where the sub-display camera is located have the same density (specifically 400 ppi) as anywhere else on the display, so it should be able to take the same quality selfies as the front cameras of other flagship smartphones. There is also a fingerprint reader under the display. NFC and stereo speakers are part of the equipment, and of course there is support for 5G networks.

The battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh and supports fast charging with a power of 65 W. But, strangely, wireless charging is not present. The operating system is Android 12 with MyOS 12.0 superstructure. The dimensions of the novelty are 163,2 x 73,5 x 8,4 mm and the weight is 204 g. The Axon 40 Ultra will be offered in black and silver colors and will go on sale in China on May 13. Its price will start at 4 yuan (about 998 CZK) and end at 17 yuan (about 600 CZK). It is due to arrive in international markets in June.
