As you may recall, earlier this year at CES 2022, Samsung unveiled its largest curved monitor yet, the Odyssey Ark. At the time, the Korean giant said that it would go on sale in the second half of the year. Now, a report from South Korea has hit the airwaves that clarifies that time frame.

According to information from the Korean site ETNews cited by the server SamMobile the Odyssey Ark monitor will be released in August. The Odyssey Ark has a diagonal of 55 inches, an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a curvature radius of 1000 R. It can be used in both landscape and portrait modes and supports technologies such as FreeSync and G-Sync. The screen, which uses Quantum Dot Mini LED technology, boasts a 4K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate and a 1ms (gray-gray) response.

How much the monitor will cost is not known at the moment, but it is speculated to be 2-500 dollars (about 3-000 CZK), which is not exactly "cheap". It is also not clear in which markets it will be available, but it should not miss Europe.

Odyssey Ark is primarily intended for the gaming market. For professionals and content creators, Samsung introduced the ViewFinity S8 monitor a few days ago, which is currently only available in South Korea.
