Apple has a habit of not disclosing battery sizes on its products, preferring instead to list battery life in hours. Fortunately for us, these values are still published by the certification authorities, and now the Chinese agency 3C has "broken" the battery capacities of all new models Apple Watch.
The 40mm version has the smallest battery capacity Apple Watch SE, namely 245 mAh. For the 44mm version, it is 296 mAh. 41mm version Apple Watch Series 8 has a battery with a capacity of 282 mAh, the 45 mm version has a capacity of 308 mAh. Of course, the model got by far the largest battery capacity Apple Watch Ultra, namely 542 mAh.
When it comes to battery life, the model Apple Watch According to Apple, the Series 8 can last 18 hours on a single charge (with Always-on mode, automatic activity monitoring and fall detection), but it can handle twice as long in power saving mode. Model Apple Watch Ultra should last 36 hours with normal use and Apple by the end of the year, it will bring a power saving mode, which should extend the battery life to 60 hours.
For comparison: For the 40mm version Galaxy Watch5 battery capacity is 284 mAh and the 44mm version 410 mAh, u Galaxy Watch It is then 590 mAh for the Pro. According to Samsung, the standard model lasts 40 hours on a single charge, the Pro model twice as long. Apple so he can try as hard as he wants, but as far as the durability of his watch is concerned, it still noticeably loses to the competition, and not even the durable Ultra model can save it. Maybe better system optimization would help.
When A is said, B must also be said. This article crushes me again, because it is biased in every way and, I would say, out of hand, because it is based only on tabular values.
Anyone who has an AW in my area will confirm that the watch actually lasts 2-3 days of normal use. I don't actually know anyone who can only last 18 hours.
Samsung lasted a week until it switched from Tizen to Google wear, by changing the system, the endurance dropped dramatically to 1-2 days (again, personal experience and informace from around, including pissed off customers who previously had Tizen watches). Today they are both almost balanced and it doesn't matter what value in mAh is written on the battery.
As for AW ultra, there is no real information from users yet.
Garmin is a different category, if only because it is not an "extended arm" of the phone, like Samsung or AW.
Thanks for the objective comment. We'll see how the AW Series 8 and Ultra prove themselves in real tests.
Tragic endurance AW….if you turn on activity tracking like sports ‼️… It’s a very expensive watch to only show me the time or notifications 😅👎… I had them for a week and I was happy to get rid of them at a financial loss… I bought a Garmin vena 2 plus with which I can also make phone calls, pay, monitor sports activities all day long, and most importantly, I don't have to charge them every day! Most of the other features at AW are paid again…. For example, a sleep monitor like this basically just tells you when you fell asleep and when you woke up for free 😅👎... Which is basically informace useless
There is certainly nothing paid for at AW, except for Fitness+, which is not available here and possibly Apple Music. Then of course there's iCloud storage, but that doesn't have much to do with the watch's functionality.
