As a result of investigations launched by most US states, Google will improve its control over location tracking androidphone numbers and account holders. In addition, they will pay a "fat" settlement.

As the website states Axios, Google settled an ongoing investigation by 40 US states over how it tracks users' locations. The investigation was prompted by a 2018 report that the software giant was uploading its users' location data, even if they had previously turned off various location settings. In order to settle the investigation, Google paid a settlement of $392 million (about CZK 9,1 billion), according to the website, and also had to commit to making some changes to its products. Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry officially announced the settlement.

In response to the settlement, Google published a blog post contribution, in which he describes several changes to his products that will "give users even more control and transparency over location data." These changes will begin to appear in the coming years.

The first change will be the addition of new information about location data to the My Activity and Data and Privacy pages for Google Accounts. The company will also introduce a new location data center that will "highlight key location settings." Google Account holders will also see a new control that will allow them to turn off Location History and Web and App Activity settings, as well as simply clear recent data. Finally, during initial account setup, Google will explain to users in more detail what the Web and App Activity setting is, what informace includes and how it helps their experience with Google.
