Are you lost in the rich selection of televisions and don't know what and how to choose a suitable receiver for your home, cottage or office? We have prepared for you a simple guide to buying a new TV. According to this five-point list, you will choose the perfect TV that will exactly meet your requirements.

TV size

Every TV has a recommended viewing distance and angle that you'll want to consider when placing it in your home. The best and most immersive viewing experience is when 40° of your field of vision is the screen. The appropriate distance with regard to the field of view can be calculated if you know the size of your TV, i.e. the diagonal of the screen.

To get the resulting distance, multiply the screen size by 1,2. For example, for a 75-inch screen, the correct viewing distance is 2,3 meters.

With modern TVs with Ultra HD resolution (be it 4K or 8K), of course, the larger the screen, the more you will enjoy the quality of ultra-high definition. You also have to take into account the overall dimensions of the TV so that it fits in the space where you want to place it - whether it is a place on a shelf, on a TV stand or if you want to mount it directly on the wall. Samsung has a whole range of accessories that allow you to attach the TV to the wall, even rotate it to a vertical position, or place it on a special stand.

Image quality

Picture quality is probably the most important factor by which viewers choose new TVs. A lot has to do with screen technology. Samsung TVs have a screen composed of so-called Quantum Dots, quantum dots that ensure the best possible contrast and image quality, whether it is QLED and Neo QLED TVs (LCD technology) or QD OLED (OLED technology).

Quantum dots are ultrafine semiconductor materials of nanoscopic size. These points produce light of different colors depending on the size of the particle - the larger the particle, the redder the color, and the smaller the particle, the bluer the color. They are able to emit precisely colored light because the particle sizes adjust at quantum-level speeds, resulting in precise and efficient light emission. Greater efficiency in brightness brings amazing changes in overall picture quality.

Thanks to Quantum Dot technology, Samsung's QD OLED TVs, for example, have a much brighter screen than competing brands' OLED TVs, which can only stand out in dim or dark conditions. At the same time, they perfectly reproduce the color black, which is the domain of OLED technology. QLED and Neo QLED TVs (the latter have a new generation of Quantum Dots, which are much more numerous and smaller) again stand out with a really great brightness, so they maintain the image quality even in broad daylight.

What about image resolution? Ultra HD/4K is becoming a common standard, which is offered by both QLED and Neo QLED and QD OLED TVs. It's a step up from Full HD, the image is made up of 8,3 million pixels (resolution 3 x 840 pixels) and an image of this quality will stand out on larger TVs with a minimum size of 2" (but better 160" and above). The absolute top is represented by 55K TVs with a resolution of 75 x 8 pixels, so there are over 7 million of them on the screen! If you are worried that it will be difficult to get content in this resolution into such high-quality TVs, you can rest easy: Ultra HD 680K and 4K TVs have built-in AI Upscaling technology, which uses artificial intelligence to convert the image from any resolution to 320K or 33K.

TV sound

Today, the image is far from the only output of the TV, according to which its quality is evaluated. The audience experience will be enhanced by quality sound, especially if it is surround sound and can draw you even more into the action. Neo QLED and QD OLED TVs are equipped with OTS technology, which can track the object on the screen and adapt the sound to it, so you get the impression that the scene is actually taking place in your room. The highest quality 8K TVs boast the latest generation of OTS Pro technology, which uses speakers in all corners of the TV and in its center, so that not a single sound track is missed.

With the addition of new top channel speakers, Neo QLED and QD OLED TVs can also support Dolby Atmos technology, which offers the most perfect 3D sound yet. For lower models of smart TVs, the sound can be improved by pairing with a quality soundbar from Samsung. It's simple and the result will certainly surprise you. This year, Samsung has improved this synchronization even further, so that by connecting the TV and soundbar, you can achieve authentic surround sound that comes to the viewer from all sides, exactly as if he were a direct participant in the action on the screen. Samsung soundbars for 2022 are also equipped with Wireless Dolby Atmos 3, which ensures high-quality sound transmission without disturbing cables.

TV design

Nowadays, there are no longer uniform types of televisions that do not differ from each other at first glance. Literally for every lifestyle you can find a TV that will fully suit you and fit perfectly into your interior. Samsung has a special lifestyle line of TVs, but it also thinks about those viewers who are more conservative. In the higher models of QLED and Neo QLED TVs, it can hide practically all the cables, since the TVs have most of the hardware in the external One Connect Box located on their back wall. Only one cable leads from it to the socket, and even that can be hidden so that no cable is visible at all in the receiver (this will be welcomed by viewers who want to hang the TV directly on the wall).

Samsung's QLED, Neo QLED and QD OLED TVs can be placed on the included bracket or fixed to the wall thanks to a special wall bracket, including a swivel version that allows the TV to be rotated 90 degrees to a vertical position, or special tripods can be used, which will be used viewers with smaller TVs. All TVs are equipped with Ambient mode, which displays the exact time or other motifs when viewers are not watching them.

However, if you want to use the TV as a tasteful decoration, bet on the lifestyle The Frame, which looks like a real picture. Hanging on the wall with special "snap-on" frames (they hold thanks to a magnet, so they are very easy to change) it turns into a work of art, or you can display your own photos on it. Alternatively, we will use the Art Shop application, in which Samsung offers thousands of works of art and photos from the world's most famous galleries, so you can have a Rembrandt or a Picasso hanging on your wall. Thanks to the rotatable wall mount, it is not a problem to choose a picture in a vertical position.

Lovers of designer furniture will welcome the massive The Serif TV, which boasts a strong frame with an "I" profile, thanks to which it can simply stand on the floor or on a shelf, and the upper part can be used as a holder for a small flower pot. And if you don't like placing it on the floor, you can use the screw-on legs to hide the cable, so there is no risk of it hanging awkwardly from the back of the TV into the room.

Fans of social networks, especially TikTok and Instagram, will welcome the original rotating TV The Sero, which on a special holder turns itself by 90 degrees depending on whether it is playing a video in horizontal or vertical format. But the TV can also be turned with the remote control. The Sero is the easiest TV to move on the market, wheels can be added to the special stand and it can be moved from one room to another at will. Otherwise, it does not lack any of the equipment of Samsung's QLED TVs.

If you are thinking about a TV for harsher conditions on the garden terrace and do not want to move it indoors for the winter, try The Terrace, the only outdoor TV on the market. It is water- and dust-resistant, withstands temperatures from -30 to +50 degrees Celsius, and can also be purchased with a special outdoor soundbar, The Terrace. Its remote control is also outdoor.

For connoisseurs, Samsung also has special projectors that can fully replace the TV. Whether it is The Premiere laser devices (with one or three lasers) with a very short projection distance, which can conjure up an image with a diagonal of up to 130", or the portable The Freestyle, which must not be missing at any party.

Smart features

Televisions are no longer only used for passively watching a few TV programs, they are increasingly used for other entertainment, but also for work and active leisure time. All Samsung smart TVs are equipped with the unique Tizen operating system and a number of practical functions, such as multiscreen, where you can divide the screen into up to four separate parts and watch different content in each, or handle work matters or video calls and video conferences. A very appreciated function is the mirroring of the phone on the TV screen and the possibility to use the smartphone as a remote control for the TV.

Thanks to the SmartThings application, the TV can be connected to other smart devices in the home, such as the new foldable phone Galaxy From Flip4. Of course, there are also applications for popular streaming services such as Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, Voyo or iVyszílí ČT. Some of them even have their own button on the remote control. All QLED, Neo QLED and QD OLED TVs from Samsung can boast of this equipment.
