With reference to the website Ars Technica, we recently brought informationthat phones Galaxy S23 due to bloatware and unnecessary applications, they "bite off" a barely believable 60 GB of internal storage. However, this claim was according to the website SamMobile inaccurate and misleading. The latest "flagships" of the Korean giant are said not to reserve so much space for their software.

Some users Galaxy S23 posted screenshots of the My Files application on Twitter in the past few days, showing that the operating system (referred to here as System) takes up 512GB Galaxy S23 Ultra and much more 60 GB space. However, My Files does not have permission to access the Applications category by default, so it counts together the storage space taken by the operating system, pre-installed apps, and user-installed apps (and their data) in the System section. When you tap the "i" icon next to the Applications category, My Files will ask for permission to access it. Once you grant this permission, the storage space occupied by the operating system (and pre-installed apps) and user-installed apps will be displayed separately.

Even after this separation, My Files still shows more than 50 GB of system space. And that's because Samsung tries to compensate for the difference between the advertised storage capacity and the actual storage capacity of the device. As you may know, when you buy an HDD or SSD, you don't get the full capacity that the manufacturer states. This is because people and devices (and the operating system) calculate storage space in different units. When you get 1TB of storage, you're actually getting roughly 931GB. With a 512GB disk, it is then less than 480GB.

So u Galaxy The S23 Ultra with 512 GB of internal memory has a real storage capacity of 477 GB, i.e. 35 GB short of the advertised capacity. Samsung decided to add the missing storage space (roughly 7% of capacity is lost due to the conversion of units from gigabytes to gigabytes) in the System section. So the actual system storage space (25GB) and the missing storage capacity (35GB) are combined to show 60GB of space occupied by the System. Real storage space that range Galaxy The S23 takes up 25-30GB, not the rather scary 60GB that Ars Technica reported. The website has also already corrected its original article.
