On a social network Reddit a Site Google support has started to receive complaints from owners of the range of phones in recent days Galaxy S23, that they don't get along well with the globally popular navigation application Android Car. Specifically, users complain of issues with wireless syncing with vehicles, automatic Bluetooth pairing failure after vehicle is disabled, or missing permissions preventing phones from connecting properly.
If the mentioned problems are familiar to you, you are not wrong. Last year's flagship series suffered from similar problems Galaxy S22. Google only started releasing the update with the relevant fixes in May (the series went on sale at the end of February), and it took three months to roll it out to all affected devices. Since these problems are not new to Google, it is likely that it will release the corresponding update in less than three months, and that its expansion will (perhaps) not take another quarter of a year. However, what causes these problems is still unclear.
Do you still have "warm" at home Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ or Galaxy S23 Ultra and you use on it Android Car? If so, let us know in the comments if you have any of the above or other issues with the app.
Yes, I have the same problem. I own Galaxy S23+ and I solved the problem first with Škoda Auto to see if they have a problem and would I be referred to Samsung or Google. Samsung support confirmed me an error on the part of Google.
On google sites Android The car has had this error since May 2022. The errors refer to connection drops, incorrect loading in AA, etc. That you can't connect Samsung Galaxy S 20 – 23 is rather conditional, with the new UI 5.1.
Thanks for the info, we will hope to rectify the situation soon.
I confirm, Samsung S23± reports connection to Androidu Auto failed (via cable). Tested in Škoda Octavia 4th generation.
I confirm, on the s23 ultra, it is also not possible to connect the voice to AA, the connection failed (by cable), KAMIQ 2021
Samsung S23 - VW Arteon 2020 Discovery Pro, cable. Connected without problems.
Škoda Octavi IV – Samsung S23 connects to the car after clicking the icon Android The car will write - connection failed 🙁
This is absolutely amazing, a few days ago I chose a new company phone (Samsung Galaxy S23) which was supposed to replace the current Google Pixel 6. I am changing it primarily because of the falling AA on the Pixel.
The Pixel 6 has had wireless issues from the start Android Auto.. I already got to a kind of support level directly with Google, I uploaded diagnostic logs to them, we communicated, we tried various things in terms of settings, resets, etc.. After more than a year, it was not possible to solve it with the Google Pixel itself ..
Wireless AA is absolutely unusable in my case.. I tolerated this situation for a year, then I borrowed a Samsung for a week Galaxy A53 5G with Snapdragon and wonder the world.. it didn't fail me even once..
Since the S22 has Exynos and the S23 was about to drop, I waited for the S23.. and now this.. absolutely amazing!
GJ Google, GJ Samsung
VW Golf8 2022 and S23+ wireless connection, all absolutely without problems.
Thanks for the info, you are one of the luckier ones.
It worked fine yesterday with my new Ultra AA and today it won't connect. Cable, Kia Stonic
Škoda Kamiq (2020) - connection with cable S22 and AA cannot be connected, connection failed. Tested at the service on a new Kamiq and the same, connection failed. S20 works without problems. Then in the service, the connection to the Karoq wireless was tested and the AA worked. Communication with Samsung is miserable, we do nothing, it's google. Lately I've had "eska" Samsungs, but I think I'm done with Samsung.
One more addition. I communicated directly with Skoda. I gave them the photo documentation, version, release, etc. I got a pretty quick response that they know about the problem, they are passing the comments to Samsung, but they are not responding.
Samsung S23+ / Škoda Camiq 2021 will only connect the call function, but applications like waze or tap, only report that the connection failed. Hopefully it will be resolved soon...
After communicating with Samsung support (800 726 786, you can also try) I got a reply that Samsung is aware of the problems Android car S22 and S23 for the brands SEAT, VW, Škoda and solves it. When asked when it will be, he doesn't know. So with that in mind, it's been going on for a year with the S22, after years with Samsung I've decided to switch to Apple. It works there, I have verified it.
S23 vs Škoda Kamzík the connection doesn't work, oops ::)
For me, the S23 Ultra won't connect to AA after the Kamiq cable either. I wrote to Škoda and they wrote back that they are aware of the problem and are solving it in cooperation with Samsung with a repair package for updating the infotainment software. When I found out that they haven't even fixed the connection of last year's S22 model, I'm starting to regret switching from Apple to Samsung now. PUSH carplay ran without problems.
I wrote on team Android the car received the instruction below. I sent them a bug report.
Thanks for letting us know that Android Car does not connect to Samsung S23 phones. To help our engineers understand what's going on, it would be great if you could send us a bug report from your phone. To capture a bug report, you first have to enable Developer Mode in your Android phone and Android Car app.
Note – Depending on the phone and versions of the app and Android that you have, how you access these settings may be a little different.
1. Enabling Developer Mode on your phone
Open Settings. Scroll down and tap About phone (or System).
Scroll down to the Build number.
Tap the Build number 7 times in quick succession until "You're now a developer!" appears (or it may ask you to enter your PIN first).
Return to the Settings (or Settings > System) and select Developer options.
At the top of the screen, make sure 'Developer options' is enabled (green).
In the Developer options menu, scroll down or search for Enable Bluetooth HCI snoop log and set to Enabled.
In the Developer options menu, scroll down to the Debugging section and enable the Bug report shortcut (green).
Scroll down to Logger buffer sizes. The default setting is 256K. Select 16M (or the largest setting available) to help capture more information for debugging. Please note, this setting can affect apps performance, especially with lower memory phones.
2. Enable Android Auto Developer settings on your phone
Ensure Google Play Services and the Android Auto applications are up-to-date.
Open Settings. Scroll down and tap Connected Devices.
Tap Connection preferences.
Scroll down and tap Android Auto.
Scroll to the bottom of the list and tap "Version" once. This expands to display "Version and permission info."
Tap on the expanded "Version and permission info" text ten (10) times. A dialog prompts you to enable Developer settings. Click OK.
To confirm that Developer settings are enabled, select the Menu (upper right corner). You will see Developer settings.
Select Developer settings and scroll down to enable Force debug logging. This option enables Android Auto-related debug logs and allows you to capture the activity log for an Android Car session.
3. Capturing and Bug Reporting
It's very important to do this right after you experience the issue again so your device can log at least one occurrence of the issue. (For safety reasons, we recommend having a passenger capture the bug report.) Please ensure to stay connected until the bug report is complete (important connection information is only captured at the very end).
Hold the Power and Volume up buttons at the same time until the menu appears.
Tap the Bug report button on the phone screen and wait for the device to capture the bug report. Do not disconnect the connection until the bug report is fully generated.
Tap the Bug report captured notification when it appears.
At a convenient time, please share the bug report by attaching it directly in a response to this email. If the file size is too large to attach, please share the zip file via Google Drive.
When you want to disable Developer Mode
Open Settings. Scroll down and tap System.
Scroll down and tap Developer options.
Toggle Use developer options off.
Open Settings again. Scroll down and tap Connected Devices.
Tap Connection preferences.
Scroll down and tap Android Auto.
In the menu at the top, tap Quit developer mode.
Thank you for taking the time to capture your bug report. It will really help our team understand the issue you're experiencing. We recommend you to follow the thread for updates.
Thanks,
The Android Auto Team

I finally solved it by purchasing Carlinkit A2A adapter for wireless Android Car. The S23 ultra connects to the AA wirelessly and it works fine.
Hello, may I ask which car was connected via this adapter?
Thanks for the reply.
April update today and it started working on Kamiq
Hello, I would like to ask with which phone I managed to connect you via Android car? Thank you very much.
I also can't connect s23 to Seat Leon ( Android Car) by cable or via Bluetooth. Writes connection failed. Hopefully Google will fix this soon, it's pretty annoying. Husband with Xiaomi 12 laughs at me, and I have a phone that is twice as expensive.
I tried to connect my Kamiq via cable after that April update but still with the same result, connection failed.
Yes, S23 problem persists, S22 started working
I've owned a Samsung S23 Ultra for about 3 months, yesterday I asked Škoda again if something had happened. Samsung is slowly adding individual phones to the list of working phones with individual cars. I have Octavia IV series. It is said that the basis is the stability of basic functions. I pulled out a spare phone in the evening. iPhone 14 pro max. I never had a problem connecting with any of them. Samsung will go to the world.
S23+ cannot be connected to VW CADDY rv 2023. Updating from APKMirror didn't help. S10 without problems.
Today I replaced my existing A52S with S23 , always "Connection failed", "Device not supported". A52 worked 100%.
And the problem still persists. Recently, the new S23 won't connect to the Škoda Kamiq, year of manufacture 2021, it says connection failed... In the authorized service center they told me that they can't do anything for me in this, there is no software update for this car.
Same problem, 4 Octavia 2020 and S23.
Have you tried solving the problem directly with Samsung?
If that makes any sense at all… Thanks for the info.
Still going, Samsung S23 and Fabia IV, 2023. It was a very unpleasant surprise when the car reported "unsupported device".
