Samsung should launch its new high-end tablet line in the summer Galaxy Tab S9. It is expected to bring better performance, newer software and a more durable design (IP68 certification). Now, the range-topping model – the Tab S9 Ultra – has appeared in a Geekbench benchmark, revealing (or rather confirming previous leaks) that it will be powered by the same chipset as the range Galaxy S23, and that it will be even faster.

Leaker going by the name on Twitter Revegnus discovered a tablet Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra with model number SM-X916B in the Geekbench 6 benchmark database. The database shows that the tablet uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset for Galaxy, i.e. the same one that powers Samsung's current flagship series Galaxy S23. Recall that this chip has one main processor core with a frequency of 3,36 GHz, four powerful cores with a frequency of 2,8 GHz and three economical cores running at 2 GHz.

The tablet scored 2054 points in the single-core test and 5426 points in the multi-core test. These results are even better than those achieved by the series in tests Galaxy S23 (for her specifically, it was roughly 1950 or 4850 points). This is probably due to better heat dissipation, as tablets have more space inside than phones.

If these numbers are correct, Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra (and other models of the series Galaxy Tab S9) could have better gaming performance and better long-term load performance than the already extremely powerful Galaxy S23 Ultra. The series should be along with the new foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 introduced in August.
