Samsung said earlier this year that in the second quarter on the watch series Galaxy Watch5 will make temperature sensor-based menstrual cycle monitoring available. And that just happened now. The company started releasing the corresponding update in the USA, South Korea and dozens of European markets, including the Czech Republic.

New update for Galaxy Watch5 a Watch5 Pro enables more accurate monitoring of the menstrual cycle by using a skin temperature sensor. This sensor cannot be used freely like, for example, a heart rate sensor, because unlike this and other sensors, it works in the background.

Although users are on Galaxy Watch5 can't measure skin temperature whenever they want, this sensor has allowed Samsung to introduce new, more accurate ways to track the menstrual cycle. Korean giant explainsthat the basal body temperature varies according to the menstrual phase and that by reading the wearer's skin temperature after waking up and before physical activity, the temperature sensor on Galaxy Watch5 accurate menstrual cycle predictions.

Once the user Galaxy Watch5 receive the new update, they can activate the feature by selecting the Cycle Tracking option in the Samsung Health app, adding recent cycle information to the calendar, and enabling the Predict period with skin temp in the settings menu. The update is currently being rolled out in the US, South Korea and 30 European countries including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Germany.
