Last year Samsung s Galaxy The S22 FE, i.e. the Fan Edition, did not arrive. In 2023, however, we could allegedly expect two fan editions, namely Galaxy S23 FE a Galaxy Tab S8 FE. If it has been leaked so far informace prove to be true, in both cases it will essentially be a type device Galaxy Lite, differing only in name and in this context the question is what Samsung is trying to achieve with them.

According to SamMobile, it will Galaxy The S23 FE launched this fall, with the Exynos 2200 chipset at its heart, not the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ as previously rumored. Exynos 2200 before launch Galaxy The S22 looked pretty promising, but its lackluster benchmarks and battery drain ultimately led Samsung to go with Snapdragon for the S23 series. As a counterbalance, the Korean giant may reduce the price of the S23 FE, it is believed SamMobile and compared to the S21 FE model, thanks to the 50 Mpx camera, it also gets decent photographic equipment.

However, it's a question of how many die-hard Samsung fans will conclude that the $200 price difference compared to the S23 will be worth it, especially considering that a significant number of people are getting their flagship phones at a lower price thanks to various reseller trade-in programs or operator offers. At the same time, it is in the game Galaxy The Tab S8 FE, which could be powered by a lightweight Kompanio 900T chipset and could get up to 4GB of RAM. Currently available informace suggest that we could expect it around the same time as Galaxy Tab S9 with an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip sometime in the third quarter of 2023.

If Samsung continues to use the Fan Edition to fill the mid-range niche instead of catering to its fans, then the question is how it will be received. The history of the entire edition certainly does not give the impression that the technology giant is clear about this. If we take into account the latest trends in terms of customer interest, they focus either on basic models or, on the contrary, flagships. Of course, the compromise in the form of the Fan Edition may find its target group, taking into account the price-performance ratio, for which it will be a welcome upgrade, but it can be assumed that it will not be very strong. Users who like premium equipment and functions are usually not too willing to compromise on the requirements, and those who are satisfied with cheap variants without problems are not attracted by the price.

The whole thing definitely feels more like a calculated risk, aimed at targeting a certain demographic, than a welcoming message to fans. The promise of a perfect balance of quality and affordability is always very difficult to fulfill and Samsung seems to be no exception.
