Samsung Knox celebrates its 10th anniversary. The company presented it more than ten years ago at the MWC (Mobile World Congress). And as he said in a recent announcement, the platform has since evolved into a holistic security solution that protects billions of consumers and businesses.

On the 10th anniversary of the Knox platform, Samsung talked about what's next for it. While there is a lot to look forward to, it seems that the big improvements to the platform will arrive later than expected. This enhancement is the Knox Matrix feature introduced last fall. Using it, the Korean giant intends to create smoothly functioning networks of devices that secure each other.

Instead of Knox working on each device independently, Knox Matrix connects multiple devices Galaxy at home in a private blockchain-based network. Samsung's vision is for every device in the Knox Matrix network to be able to perform security checks on another device, creating a network that can verify its own security integrity. And the more devices in the Knox Matrix network, the more secure the system will be.

Samsung Knox Matrix is based on three basic technologies:

  • Trust Chain, which is responsible for monitoring each other's devices for security threats.
  • Credential Sync, which secures user data when moving between devices.
  • Cross Platform SDK, which allows devices with different operating systems, including Androidu, Tizen a Windows, to join the Knox Matrix network.

The Knox Matrix feature was originally supposed to launch later this year, but Samsung has changed plans and now says the first devices that will "know" it won't arrive until next year. Other phones and tablets Galaxy they will get it later through firmware updates. After phones and tablets, TVs, home appliances and other smart home devices will follow. After that (after about two to three years), Samsung plans to roll out the feature to partner devices, with compatibility development for partner devices already underway, he said.
